The future of diaries…
If you know me, you know I love writing in my diary. It’s fun, it’s a great way to record what happens in your daily life, and most importantly of all it gives you something to do with your time which is really fun. Or at least I think so.
This weblog thing is also a miracle. I mean, much as I love my diary and will always keep it to some extent, the weblog is the future. It’s just unbeatable when it comes to sharing your thoughts with people instantly, and then there are all the added bonuses like music, photographs and video which you can embed.
In other words, we live in a very, very good time in human history. Had we been born a hundred years earlier we’d have died of the plague by now. So don’t you think we’re lucky?
The only downside of the internet is, of course, the fact that people take the internet ethos of everything-done-in-a-second, and apply that to other walks of life. This is when it gets tricky for me: I am happy with people expecting me to email them relatively quickly, but I’m not happy with the idea of all our lives being governed by the same rules as the digital revolution!
Still, whatever your like, compression clothing , monkeys or Greek islands, you can find a weblog about it, and the age of the diary has never been more glorious. Which is good for me, because if you ask anyone who knows me, I am starting to run out of space for my written ones…
