Summer’s delights
Summer time on the farm has got to be one my favourites, the sun beating down on you as you work and that fresh summer’s breeze uplifting your mood and getting you ready for the tasks ahead. The neighbouring farms have little baby goats running around the lanes and they are so fluffy and cute, I could just stare at them all the day long. All the wildflowers are out in the meadows and they are a beautiful reminder that summer is here once again. The fruit trees are very productive and the cherries are so big, ripe and juicy.
Summer time is one of the most productive times of year on the farm as you can make money out of the animals and fruit being produced on the trees. Picking the cherries, apples and peaches isn’t such a bad job when you can take them to the markets and sell them on a stall among the other exhibition stands. Fruit isn’t the only thing that can help make some extra money on the farm, if you have goats or sheep that have given birth you can milk them and sell this on too. You can even use the milk to make soaps and other beauty products if you know how. There is always something on the farm that can help you make some extra money. The vegetable garden is also growing well, there is an abundance of lettuce, radish, spinach, potatoes and beans as well as a whole host of other food for the picking.
